WVC Women's Soccer
Signs 9 New Players





On May 23rd Coach Wright was proud to announce his 2008 class of recruits. In an informal ceremony, 9 new players signed letters of intent to play soccer at Wenatchee Valley College. The new players are; Austyn Heinlein, Cassie Legarda, Kayla Werner, Karina Morales, Liz Mendoza, Evelyn Candido, Llesenia Infante, Connie Nava and Alejandra Bustos.





Liz Mendoza Cle Elem High School

Liz will be taken for granted this year.in the NWAACC. Her heart and never give up attitude will win her teammates and coaches over this season. Tough player with great vision.









Alejandra Bustos Bridgeport High School

Ali is a two time Player of the Year and two time First team All-Conference midfielder in the NCW B- League her junior and senior year. She was also selected to the ALL-State Girls Soccer team her senior year. Ali looks to bring her phenominal passing skills along with her rocket shot to WVC this fall. Her ability to place balls exactly where she wants them is her greatest asset along will her willingness to never quit and is why she will make an immediate impact for the Knights.








Llesenia Infante Brewster High School

A fast midfield/ forward type player, Llesenia was a 1st team All-Conference midfielder her senior year that gave other teams in her league fits with her pace and technical abilities. Also a very able goal scorer.









Evelyn Candido Kennewick High School

A tenacious defender that never quits. Eve makes the tackles when no one else can or will. Her willingness to scarifice her body to protect her goal is why Coach Wright recruited her. Eve was a 2nd team All-Conference player at Sunnyside High School
her Junior and sophomore year,



Connie Nava

Brewster High School

A very aggresive Goalkeeper that helped her team to a CTL playoff appearance her senior year with her outstanding goalkeeping abilities. Connie has a great work ethic and is a team player in every sence of the word. She will compete for the starting spot her Freshman year.







Karina Morales Royal City High School

Karina was the SCAC 2007-08 league MVP and was voted a 1st team midfielder. She was also selected to the 2007-08 All State Girls Soccer team. She received a 1st team nod her junior year as a defender. Karina is a strong powerful midfielder who can take over a game. Her keen passing ability and powerful shot will be a great asset to WVC this season. Her plans are to study Radiology.


Kayla Werner Cascade High School (Leavenworth)


A two time 1st team All Conference CTL forward, Kayla has a nose for the goal. Her explosive speed and finishing ability has led the Kodiaks the past three years. Kayla comes to WVC to lend her talents and will be a possible starter as a freshman.





Austyn Heinlein Wenatchee High School

A standout for WHS in the 4A Columbia Basin League. Austyn brings a wealth of experience with her to WVC. Her versatility makes her a force anywhere on the pitch. As a defender her tackling ability is second to none. Her tactical prowess as a midfielder gives her teams the ability to attack at any given moment. Austyn was a 1st Team All-Conference as a defender

Cassie Legardia Eastmont High School

Phenomenal footwork and dribbling ability, Cassie makes it look easy and effortless. A nose for the goal but also a versatile player. Look for cassie to appear often her freshman year.
